The homegrown adaptation of The Night Manager has secured a coveted nomination for Best Drama Series at the 2024 International Emmy Awards. This marks a significant milestone as the only Indian entry across 14 diverse categories, showcasing the rising global appeal of Indian content.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS) announced the nominations on September 19, in New York, igniting celebrations across the Indian film and television industry. The Disney+ Hotstar series, starring Bollywood heavyweights Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sobhita Dhulipala, will compete against formidable contenders from France, Australia, and Argentina.
The Night Manager Indian adaptation, helmed by directors Sandeep Modi and Priyanka Ghose, is a high-octane thriller that has captivated audiences with its stellar plot and performances. The series follows Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapur), whose life takes a dramatic turn after a heart-wrenching event in Dhaka, compelling him to infiltrate the empire of influential criminal Shelly Rungta (Anil Kapoor).
The 52nd International Emmy Awards Gala is scheduled for November 25, 2024, in New York City. Indian comedy sensation Vir Das, who won last year for his stand-up special “Landing,” will return as the host.
